Yoga, Meditation and the Creative Process with Delia Quigley March 30-April 1, 2012 Genesis Farm, Blairstown, NJ
"Whatever you dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it. Begin it now." Goethe
Whether you are a professional artist or someone eager to awaken your creative muse this weekend allows you to explore and indulge your creative nature. The right to express our self creatively is inherent in the human spirit and fuels our journey through life. The practice of yoga helps to open blocked energy channels of the body-mind, while meditation brings us to a deeper awareness and understanding of the Self.
Against the stunning and spiritual energy of Genesis Farms 250 acres and using the creative tools: digital photography, drawing, painting, and writing you will create, play, laugh, sing, dance and look at the world around you in a whole new way. This weekend retreat is limited to 11 women willing to make this empowering creative journey.
Many people link the idea of creativity with being an "artist", meaning someone who has a natural talent for expressing what they see through writing, art, dance, music or song. Others simply fear being judged, ridiculed, or laughed at when revealing their artistic side in public. Art is defined in Webster's New World Dictionary as human creativity. This need to create is an expression of our soul that reaches back to the very beginning of time. The ancient yogis called it Pakritti, the universal energy that makes up all forms of matter. Creative energy is the cycle of birth, growth, and dissolution, a never-ending cycle to which we are all intimately connected. In other words, art is a metaphor for life, and life is a metaphor for living. Expressing yourself creatively is a recognition, integration, and understanding of what it is to be human.
